Failsafe Marine Mount:

This anti-vibration mount, can be ordered in Mild or Stainless Steel options.  It is a very popular option for rubber/metal anti-vibration pedestal mounts when used with compression and lateral loads (lateral in one direction - along the longer lateral dimension).  This is particularly useful when being used as part of a drive system, where lateral loads are commonly applied in one axis as well as the usual vertical compression loads.

The elastomeric component is partially protected by the galvanised steel shell.

This isolator offers a good balance between isolation performance, mount height, and price.

This is a 'failsafe' shear mount, it is not double bonded.  There are pro's and con's to making a mount failsafe.

This mount is designed to be used when mounted to a flat horizontal surface.  The load applied then acts vertically downwards towards the ground.

One notable advantage of these Shear Cap, or Bell Mounts, is that their properties tend to be relatively uniform with small changes in direction of load.  E.g. if used on a ship (mounted in the fore-aft direction), the rocking of the ship will have only a small impact on isolation when compared to standard Pedestal mounts.
