Product Information

Description

Pedestal mounts are used to support equipment, normally from the base, but they can also be wall mounted to act as stabiliser mounts for taller equipment.

Depending on the vibration frequency or shock to be absorbed, these mounts are highly effective and popular options.  Their circular profiles give isotropic performance in both horizontal planes (when floor mounted).

We manufacture these parts in the UK, and make a number of variants.  Variants incl. using alternative substrates (e.g. stainless steel), thread size, different compounds (e.g. food grade rubber) or colour.  Please contact us if your required product cannot be found.

These mounts are manufactured to a particularly high standard; Metals are bonded to rubber using a 2 layer bonding system (most manufacturers use a single layer system).  The advantage of this approach is longevity of the bond, particularly in more environmentally challenging conditions.

When fitting the mounts, the following points are important:

  • The flanged plate (with through holes) should be fixed to a solid flat surface that provides consistent support across the whole surface of the plate.
  • The supported load should cover at least 80% of the top plate
  • The thread is for tightening the load down to the mount and not for jacking up for height adjustment. Any Height adjustment should be provided using shims or washers.

Note:

  • The deflection and spring data supplied below is a good guide - compared to other manufacturers AVMR tends to be conservative on max recommended loads.  Depending on your product product you may choose a firmer or softer grade.

Default Materials:

  • Mild Steel metals with a sherardized plating (a type of zinc plating)
  • AVMR's proven Natural rubber based elastomer designed to an MVEE (military) standard or an equivalent equivalent British Standard (e.g. BS1154)

Installation Instructions.  Please ensure that:

  • The base of the mount is bolted to a flat, smooth and solid surface.
  • Equipment is firmly fixed to the thread with the load being taken by the top plate.
  • Compression loads per mount are within the operating range (see below).
Model Load Range (Kg) Deflection (mm) Natural Frequency (Hz) Stiffness (Kg/mm)
