There is a lot to unpack in the name for these rubber mounts - Basic Waisted Female-Female anti vibration Bobbin mounts, so I will take it a bit at a time. 

• These products are 'basic' as they are price focussed and therefore use lower quality materials.  For many applications, that does not matter, but if you require higher quality steel threads, or consistency of spring rates from each product batch, then these are probably not the products for you.  The shape and thread quality will be reasonably consistent though. 
• The rubber shape is called 'waisted', and that carries a number of advantages
• The two threads are female threads and
• The product is called a bobbin mount, and it is used to absorb, or attenuate, vibration

The waisted element on these bobbins makes them more useful as they offer greater deflection and therefore vibration absorption.

This commodity grade product is a low cost solution which fits many requirements. Bobbin mounts are used in shear, compression, or anywhere in between.  We do not recommend using them in tension (as is the case for all bobbin mounts). These products all come with a single male thread on each end.
