What are Basic Stainless Steel Cylindrical Male-Male anti vibration Bobbin mounts?

There is a lot to unpack in that name for a simple rubber AV product - Basic Stainless Steel Cylindrical Male-Male anti vibration Bobbin mounts, so I will take it a bit at a time. 

  • These products are 'basic' as they are price focussed and therefore use lower quality materials.  For many applications, that does not matter, but if you require higher quality steel threads, or consistency of spring rates from each product batch, then these are probably not the products for you.  The shape and thread quality will be reasonably consistent though. 
  • The steel elements are stainless 304
  • The rubber shape is called 'cylindrical', which tends to be a 'value' option on larger mounts.
  • The two threads are male
  • The product is called a bobbin mount, and it is used to absorb, or attenuate, vibration.

Silentblocs, bobbin mounts, Anti Vibration mounts, rubber bobbins, whatever you call them, bobbin mounts are the most widely used anti-vibration mounts.  They are simple, and absorb vibration well for many applications.

This commodity grade stainless steel product is a low cost solution which fits many requirements. Bobbin mounts are used in shear, compression, or anywhere in between.  We do not recommend using them in tension (as is the case for all bobbin mounts). These products all come with a single male thread on each end.

These basic bobbin mounts are RoHS and REACH compliant, and made from:

  • 55° Natural Rubber
  • Stainless Steel (AISI 430)
