Advanced Male-Male Hollow Conical Bobbin (1-40 daN)

Silentblocs, bobbin mounts, Anti Vibration mounts, rubber bobbins, whatever you call them, bobbin mounts are the most widely used anti-vibration mounts.  They are simple, and absorb vibration well for many applications.

This hollow conical bobbin is particularly useful as it offers greater deflection and therefore vibration absorption.  In addition, the wall of rubber provides more resistance against potential twisting loads when a narrow waisted bobbin could be more prone to pivoting.

This bobbin will take loads from 1 daN (deca-Newtons) to 40 daN.

These bobbin mounts are used only in compression.  We do not recommend using them in tension (as is the case for all bobbin mounts) or, for these bobbins, in shear. These products all come with a single male thread on each end.

Commonly used on:

• Engines and motors
• Pumps and generators
• Fans, compressors and Air-conditioning units.

These basic bobbin mounts are RoHS and REACH compliant, and made from:

• 45° or 60° Elastomer, depending on load rating

• Plated mild steel

Please note:

• Deflection data is for guidance only, and is a static deflection.
• These items are typically on a 2-3 week lead time.

When installing, as with all bobbins, the following rules must be followed:

• The interface to the bobbin must be smooth, flat and solid (e.g. steel).
• The interface to the bobbin must cover the full flat area of the bobbin plus a 5mm margin.  This is not a bonded product, your interface helps hold the rubber in place.
• The flat rubber ends of the bobbin must be kept parallel in order to work the rubber evenly.
